Tale as Old As Time
about us
some days it feels like we’re just winging it… other days we actually are… but we’re doing it together, on a boat, with a baby in the belly and a barefoot toddler climbing the rigging. we’re living in a slip for now… dreaming of open water… and slowly getting our floating home ready to go.
we’re just a couple of dreamers raising our little crew aboard a 41’ sailboat in oceanside harbor. our boat life isn’t all tropical anchorages and sunset sails… at least not yet. right now, we’re deep in the thick of it… planning… upgrading… fixing… learning… and sometimes just staring at a rusty bolt wondering what it even does.
we bought our freeport islander ketch 41 with big dreams of crossing the pacific one day. but first? a whole lotta prep. we’re still tied to the dock for now… literally in a slip… while we chip away at the never-ending to-do list. from replacing steering chains to chasing electrical gremlins, every fix gets us a little closer to untied freedom.
our journey’s still in the “getting ready” chapter… but it’s already full of heart, hustle, and a fair share of engine tantrums. we’re documenting it all—the wins, the whoopsies, and the wild joy of raising a family on the water.
we’re not experts… just a family figuring it out as we go, one dock line and diesel drip at a time. if you’re into real stories, slow progress, and big salty dreams… we’re so glad you found us.
